4-star (self-rated) historic resort on 10 hectares overlooking St Austell Bay

Architecture & Unique History

Trenython Manor Resort Fowey was built in 1872 by an Italian architect commissioned by General Garibaldi. The Egyptian pillars inside the entrance hall originated from the Temple of Ephesus and are thousands of years old. The property also holds General Wolf's Headboard and Lord Nelson's Sea Chest on display.

Accommodations

The resort offers over 30 self-catering cottages and lodges dotted across the natural grounds. Each unit includes a fully fitted kitchen, lounge area, and a private patio with views of St Austell Bay. Some lodging options include the Two-Bedroom Lodge with Terrace and Sea View, which sleeps up to four.

Wellness & Leisure

The on-site leisure facilities include a fully equipped indoor swimming pool, sauna, steam room, and a gym. Spa treatment rooms provide bookings for massages, facials, and body wraps using Templspa products. Guests can also access a hot tub, fitness/spa locker rooms, and spa/wellness packages.

Dining & Events

The resort operates two on-site restaurants and a bar, with a focus on local ingredients. A private dining room and a conference room are available for group bookings. The Manor is licensed for civil ceremonies in the Gott Suite, a converted chapel with stained-glass windows, and the Du Maurier Suite with wrap-around sea-view windows.

Family & Pet Amenities

Families have access to a children's playground, kids' outdoor play equipment, and board games. Pet-friendly lodges are available upon request, and the 10 hectare grounds provide on-site woodland walks. Self-catering cottages and lodges allow families to prepare meals with a fully fitted kitchen.
